Getting forward shaft lean, or your hands ahead of the ball, as you strike the golf ball will allow you to hit crisp, solid, long and accurate golf shots. This is easy to achieve with the correct wrist position and hand orientation during the down swing and this video shows you how to achieve exactly that and a way to get feedback to help you learn the movement and position most efficiently.

Starting your down swing with the correct footwork and therefore correct pressure shift from your trail foot to your lead foot (right foot to left foot for right handed golfers) will allow you to create a chain reaction of movement through your body, so that you can deliver the head of the club back to the ball with maximum speed, to produce maximum shot distance. Here’s a really easy feedback drill that you can work on to help you achieve the correct pressure shift in your feet at the correct time during your down swing.

Do you struggle with an over the top golf swing move and would you like to hit more from the inside on your down swing? This video explains how the position you achieve at the top of your back swing with the club and shaft, influences the movement that you make on your down swing and through impact. If you struggle with making an over the top move, then have a watch of this because where you position the club and shaft at the top of the back swing may well be causing that down swing move that you want to correct.

Loss of spine angle, or posture, or early extension all mean the same thing for golfers – standing up too much during your down swing. This results in a lack of body rotation through impact, meaning you aren’t hitting the ball as far as you could, difficulty in controlling the club face, meaning you aren’t as accurate as you could be and inconsistent strikes from the club face, meaning a variation in shot trajectory. This video looks at the cause of standing up through impact, the correct position to work on achieving and a range drill to help you improve your movement and positions.
